A few notes on Dopplereffekt and Arpanet

Hi
this is my first entry on this blog.

Dopplereffekt

I' ve just got hold of the CD Calabi Yau Space recorded by Dopplereffekt, a true masterpiece of science-fiction electro ambient. Their profile on myspace is here.

If you wonder what the strange album title means (and it's even less understandable with the track tiles), then know this is about sophisticated mathematical string theories explaining how space works. Please do not ask me more.

The team behind such physicist expertise (with pictures from CERN in Geneve to be sure!) are quite mysterious musicians Gerald Donald, Kim Karli, Rudolf Ellis Klorzeiger & William Scott.

By the way, Dopplereffekt plays live tonight (22.11.2008) on Malta.

Arpanet

Gerald Donald himself produced another fantastic LP titled Inertial Frame in 2006, third album under his moniker Arpanet. All tracks fall within one theme: ground-breaking theories on evolution of the space-time continuum. First song is named Grossvater-Paradoxon. What would happen if have ever travelled back in time and killed your grandfather? Just Arpanet LP front coverlisten...

A socio-musical mythology

You can read more about this socio-musico-scientific phenomenon and related mythologies on a dedicated blog called Drexciya Research Laboratory, named after an electro sci-fi pioneering project of Gerald Donald and deceased James Marcel Stinson.
