6th edition of the bi-weekly Presence ambient electronica afternoon. Electronic, eclectic music from ambient to abstract beats, idm and beyond, in the exquisite setting of the MMBar in the La Monnaie building.

For this one, we have invited renowned electronica artist Eavesdropper to spin some of his favourite ambient and electronica records.

Eavesdropper – Yves De Mey (°72) has been around for quite a while. He started out as a drum'n'bass – breakbeat producer, but quickly moved on to more experimental things, with music for theater, performances, contemporary dance and movies. He also made a few larger scale sound installations.
He runs the extremely low profile label Knobsounds and, in 2009, the american label Line will release a full 1-track album (Lichtung).
Besides long washes of sound, he's also interested in all kinds of techno, with recently a release on T2X, together with Peter Van Hoesen (as Sendai), and on Morse Records.

From time to time he finds himself behind the decks for long DJ-sets, blending dub, techno and experimental electronics.
He often collaborates with Audiostore for performances with spatialized audio. He's also a partner at Sonicville, a sound studio in Brussels, where his skills as sound designer, engineer and musician are tested every day.

our second party focuses on dub and reggae and their influence on today's electronic music, special guest is stef smits, reggae afficionado, owner of infamous record shop jj records and working for distributor de konkurrent + plain residents mikajel, pussy kontrol and sensu. start at 23.00. click here for party venue.

andreas tilliander live in brussels...

Continually crossing boundaries and seemingly creating new, exciting genres on the fly. Andreas Tilliander is a legend in his own right. Recording under his own name as well as under the Lowfour, Mokira and Rechord monikers, he was a seminal part of the 'clicks & cuts' movement and has had en enormous influence on minimal techno and house as we now them today. A live set by Andreas is always a rumbling experience, upsetting stereotypes and forging new and undiscovered musical structures.

Accompanied here by Manna, Plain and Café Belga resident Sensu and the Resonance Soundsystem.
